Lots of wonderfully crafted typography "LOCAS vs LOCOS" a spanish of crazy girls vs crazy boys in the introductory pages. It certainly sets the mood of the grungy rocker / punk dialectic.
the stark black and white treatment also parallels the way in which the characters view the world and themselves: in a violent and aggressive immature dichotomy: of us and them, black and white, illusory assurance. Of course it's all a facade chosen by the artist just as it is chosen by the fictional characters of the work. (though with the added budgettig incentive)
Interms of the characters themselves they are punk teens that substantially resemble the characters of Ghost world, the atypical callings of love and the unmistakable scenes of unreturned ardure create a narrative dispelled of novel notions though of reminiscent value to the intended adult audience.
